Happy October 31st! Do you know what today is? That's right: It's Opening Day for the 2006-2007 NBA Season! Booyah! We've been waiting for this day since the Mavs got hoodwinked out of a Championship Trophy a few months ago. Unfortunately, we've never felt comfortable using the Firewheel blog to yap about our professional basketball bias. Instead we decided to build a new site.
And since today is Opening Day for the NBA, we're going to declare it Opening Day for ThisIsTheSlam.com as well. If you're an NBA fan, we think you're going to like this. ThisIsTheSlam.com is structured much like a blog, covering the latest in league news, fashion, trades, rumors, and anything else we find noteworthy. You can read, comment, browse, etc., but there's a twist to it all: Your comments can be given point (AKA Props) by other readers. Accumulate enough Props, and what you have to say might become "The Slam." Props and Slams give your account points, and we track our best smack talkers on the Leaderboards. And there might just be prizes in the near future.
Add all that to the ability to dress-up the site according to your favorite team colors, and we think we'll have you covered for the upcoming NBA season. Get Slammin!

Oh man, Bill Walton BY FAR! Haven't found anything wrong with jdub, but Walton is so annoying that I won't even watch the game if he is broadcasting. (Well, that's not entirely true, I love basketball too much for him to ruin it for me, but I do sit back and roll my eyes every time he speaks. :p)
Can you add a Game Day section where we can talk about each game, make predictions, bash on each others teams? Maybe keep it separate from the blog so the blog doesn't get cluttered with 1230 some game posts.
