Without further ado, we're pleased as punch to announce the winners of the ColorBurn color palette contest. There were plenty of great entries, and deciding the winners was a tough call. All winners will receive their choice of one of five IconBuffet stock icon collections. Their color palettes will also run on our ColorBurn widget during the month of March.
We'll be contacting the winners below to get you your prize based on the email you posted with your entry. If for some reason you don't hear from us, drop us a line. And thanks again to everyone who entered. It turned out to be a really great contest. I'm sure we'll be doing it again.

Paul D says
Sorry to mention this here, but your widget doesn't work right on my machine. As long as it's on "today's colors", it never gets updated.
Jason Jacobsen says
Is there an archive of all past ColorBurn colot palettes available anywhere on this website?
Jason Jacobsen says
Found Em!
Josh Williams says
Paul, we're working on the bug you mentioned. Look for an update in the next day or so. In fact, I think we've just fixed it.
Jason, we're also working on another feature I think you'll love. Hopefully this is not too far off.
JC says
Paul, please download version 1.1.1. This should resolve the issue with Today's Colors not updating.
Dan Newcombe says
Jason, where did you find them? I have been resorting to copying the numbers off into a text file once a week - if i didn't have to do this it would be great!
Shawn Orbanic says
I'm having the same problem as Paul. Palettes won't update and every time I reinstall with the 1.1.1 version it tells me there is a new version and would I like to upgrade.
Chris says
Yeah, where did you find the list? Please share!
Mike G says
Cool widget! I just got mine. Anybody know where I can get the past color combinations? Thanks for any info.
SpringFling says
It would be very useful if there were some way to "copy/paste" the hexadecimal values from Colorburn to, say, Photoshop.
And to Jason (or anyone else): where's the archive of all past ColorBurn color palettes?
Megumi says
Okay, I'm having a completely different problem.
The widget doesn't work AT ALL for me anymore. I'm sure that I have the latest version, and I've reinstalled it several times, but it continues to display white square in place of the colors that I crave. I can't even use the menu.
SpringFling's idea of copy/pasting into something would be awesome too.
But for now, I'd like it just to work. Or to see an archive online so I don't have to stress over a lack of color in my life :(
John Moreno says
I'm having the same problem as Megumi — I only see white squares. Help! This is one of the coolest widgets I've ever seen and I'd love to be able to use it.
Mike G says
Ok, so I started getting white squares yesterday. Damn my widget got the white square bug. Anyways, not sure if this would help(Windows users). I hit F8 to go into widget background. Change the opacity(50%) of the colorburn widget. Save. Counted to 10. Change the opacity back to full. Save. Then hit F8 again to go back to my desktop. Waited again for 10seconds. And WaLa', the colors came up. If I decided to see colors from a specific date. I had to first choose the color date, and repeat the process. LOL.
I have no idea what is causing the ColorBurn to fail.
Steven R says
Love colorburn, but copying the colors to a notepad is a little tedious, and I can't imagine hexadecimal colors just by looking at them (sorry, I'm not that cool).
Is there an archive of past palettes? Someone seems to have found it, but I am having to luck...
Thanks for this awesome widget!
lulu says
I love color burn and enjoy the colors everyday. but, It's a pity I miss the color been showed before. I try to find them here in the web, but :( ... ... So, where or when I could enjoy them all, that will be great!
bb says
Hey guys, I am also looking for the past colors too with no luck! Thankfully, I finally figured out what to do to solve constantly coping #'s down. So here’s the solution, its all in another widget called screenshot plus (vs. 2.3)
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/business/screenshotplus.html
The forth icon in that widget is called "grab that widget", click on it and a little camera will appear just put it over any widget and with a click of a mouse you have got your widget and then you can save it.
It works great, good luck. And please someone figure out where those lost archives are!!!!! :(
Sandee says
durn. white squares here too, day 3. I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, to no avail. weird!
bb, I've been using that screenshot plus method for a while too, it's great. Then I just pop the captures into iView Media Pro and *bing* I have a nice tidy catalog of color schemas for inspiration.

I'd love to see the archives too, if they do indeed exist, but I realllllly just want my widget to work again...
dave z says
I have the white boxes too.. I'm running 10.4.8 on an iMac 2.1ghz G5.. help!!!
Sandee says
Well, the mysterious white box bug seems to have disappeared, all by itself. Last night color came back to my world. I have no idea why, but what the hey. My ColorBurn widget works again!
PS - I'm seriously doubting the existance of a CB archive...
Jordan M says
the color burn widgit doesnt work on my ibook g4 it comes up with just blank white spaces can I please get some help.
Margie says
Any plans to release new color schemes in 2007? I notice they're all repeating from last year now.
Love the widget, and the clever titles are almost as much fun as the colors!
Thanks,
Margie

And the winner is.....Sunny day in Modena winter!!!
I'm so happy!

It's not just me now, others are saying that the widget stopped updating a while ago.
did something happen?
I just installed again and now nothing works.

I'd like to know where the archive of past palettes is too. This whole discussion has been going on, but no one will actually reveal the big secret. So, where are they?
XPRESSIONS says
I have screen captures of the color palettes starting from 10/03/06 to present. But missing 10/01/06, 10/02/06, 03/21/07 and 08/28/2007. I would be happy to send my captures and hope maybe someone could offer the palettes I am missing until we can locate an archive. Thanks in advance.

1/28/2008 - Here's what I found as the problem. We have to wait for them to fix the source server.
Dug into the powering script 'colorburn.js'
The source url for the palette is returning an error instead of colors.
vurl = baseurl+"/getxml/"+curid+"?"+curmill;
// i.e. http://www.firewheeldesign.com/colorburn/palette/getxml/0?953
returns "Application error
Rails application failed to start properly"
instead of xml return data

No Colorburn... it's been months. I haven't found a widget that compares to this one. I want my Colorburn!! Anyone else still having problems with the widget working?
I have the boxes where the colors should be and no colors. Suggestions?
