IceRocket recently changed the default search setting of their search engine to search blogs, and consequently I've recently started using IceRocket a lot more for searches. The ease of use is a lot less technical and tag-based than a service like Technorati, and frankly gets you to what you're looking for quickly.
While Google uses PageRank to determine a pages strength and relevancy in relation to every other page out there, IceRocket is like a hype-meter. Want to know the most relevant page regarding a topic like "icon design"? Then use Google. Want to know what people are saying about "icon design" today? Then use IceRocket.
IceRocket organizes its results in reverse-chronological order, giving you the most recent entries first and oldest entries last. It's great if you want to know what people are saying about your site or service today. For instance, here is what people are saying about Blinksale today. Great, huh?
It's no Google killer, but it certainly fits a huge need. How have you used IceRocket?

Right, not Google-killer, although an intriguing way to dig under it. Or should I say, "Fly over it"?
Interesting how it can distinguish phone pics from regular images.

hi i don't understand the fuzz about icerocket, technorati never lived up to the hype, the best feed engine is feedster in my opinion.
