Pixels for Hope

Pixels for Hope

Like everyone, our thoughts and prayers have been turned towards South Asia and all those devestated by the loss there. For the time being, at least until January 31, 50 percent of all stock icon purchases made at IconBuffet will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund.

Snow and my cyclamin

Looks like we may have the unexpected white Christmas after all. The Firewheel office will be officially closed until January 3, at which point we'll hopefully be moved into our new digs. Nothing like moving over the holidays... In the snow. Ah, it isn't that bad. Merry Christmas to all our friends, clients, and colleagues. May your holidays be filled with joy and love. Peace. Out.

December's Plugs

Since site launch, we've been inundated with requests for XML feeds. I guess this is a good sign. For you NetNewsWire addicts, feed links are at the bottom of this page. Happy feeding!

An excellent find, Bearskinrug showcases the talent and intellect of designer/illustrator Kevin Cornell. The site is extremely witty, and the illustration work is superb.

Well, I was planning on snatching up all the unused top-level domains for “Firewheel” after Christmas, but it looks like some industrious folk in Australia have beat us to firewheel.co.au. How cool is that?

Thoughts behind the recent redesign of this site have been posted at Yellowlane for those curious and interested. We certainly welcome your feedback, so drop us a line.

Quite possibly the best film of the year. I've just returned from a second viewing of Finding Neverland, and my mind is simply filled with amazement. A breathtaking film in an unassuming package.

Discovered while perusing the aformentioned Business of Blogging notes, The Trademark Blog follows legal developments in high-profile trademark and copyright cases. A great reminder not to rip-off another's work.

We're sorry we missed Jim Coudal's Blogging for Business Live Meeting yesterday, but he's posted a great follow-up detailing the benefits and buzz of thoughtful corporate weblogging.

While browsing around, it appears we may have found the perfect Christmas gift for, well... us. Since we don't get enough pixel time on-screen, it only seems right that we should enjoy some PixelBlocks off-screen. Talk about a fast way to blow through some cash. Via Veer.
