One of the most visited pages at Cornell University's website is it's weather page. As part of an update to that page, Firewheel Design was contracted to create a new series of weather icons to show Ithaca's current conditions. To be honest, we became a bit envious of their circumstances, since our summer weather here in Texas ranges from "Sunny and Hot" to "Sunny, Humid, and Hot." We wouldn't use the snow icon much here in Fort Worth, but we think they look awesome none-the-less.

“Nothing short of brilliant. Josh and company took an abstract concept and made it comprehensible, memorable, and beautiful. Superb service and quality. Gave me everything I needed, and then some.”
— Todd Dominey
A refreshing project, Dominey Design commissioned us to design an iconic identity for their amazing SlideShowPro Flash plug-in. The challenge was to creatively communicate the concepts of photography and multimedia while avoiding stereotypical images of slides and matted pictures. We played off of the visuals in SlideShowPro's slick interface to craft this icon for their excellent product.

Opalis Software, Inc. delivers solutions that automate IT operations for over 1,600 customers worldwide. Their flagship product, OpalisRobot, is an object-oriented workflow environment which provides automation and integration for enterprise data centers.
Firewheel Design was tasked with overhauling more than 250 icons for OpalisRobot's unique interface. More than mere buttons, these images were intended for use in visual "maps" that describe the user-created cause-and-effect chain. Each icon had to convey its meaning — often a complex and abstract one — clearly and succinctly.
Firewheel developed a symbolic system that allowed us to distinguish between events, tasks and status reports. The final results are perfectly suited to the Windows XP environment while providing OpalisRobot with a distinct look and feel.
